CRIMAL ACTIVETES of Eunuchs in INDIA ???

The recent order of a lower court granting bail to a eunuch arrested for a petty offence has thrown up a curious situation the society hardly thinks of. What happens if someone from the LGBT (lesbian, gay bisexual, transgender) community is held and denied bail. Should the accused be kept in the jail, detention home or in a special cell? In this case,

Rupa alias Mazarrul, a eunuch, was granted bail. Though the offence was petty quarrel the court also reportedly thought of legal provision __ and difficulties __ about keeping a eunuch under detention. Though some of the legal experts claimed the bail was granted after considering the not-so-serious offence and had nothing to do with gender issue, the decision has put the focus on the limited legal space __ what happens if a eunuch commits a serious crime?

This has brought to light loopholes in the judicial system when it comes to securing rights for the LGBT community and the stigma attached to its members. Neither CrPC nor IPC, Additional SP Ram Kumar Panda pointed out, has any separate provision for the ‘third sex.’ The role of police is limited to taking the accused to court, he added. Retired Senior Jail Superintendent DB Dharua from Sambalpur explained out such cases of housing LGBTs in jail seldom arise. “Ideally they are accommodated in special cells but again, all jails are overcrowded.”. Core team member of National Alliance of Women’s Organisation Subhashree Ray emphasised the need to change social outlook of the community. The legal system, as well as society need to join hands to help them live a dignified life, she said.

CRIMAL Eunuchs Sent to beggars' home in Delhi Prevention of  Begging Act 1959, by the SMM Nov 10, 2010

After months of detention at a beggars' home, a transgender caught seeking alms in south Delhi was allowed to walk free after the intervention of a Delhi court.
Setting aside an order of a special metropolitan magistrate (SMM) sending appellant transgender Rani to the beggars' home for two years, District and Additional Session Judge A.K. Chawla said: "The appeal is accepted and the order of detention is set aside."
"It is ordered that the appellant be released after due admonition on a personal bond of Rs.1,000. Appeal stands disposed off accordingly," said the court in its order June 6.
The court said that the transgender had a right to lead a life of dignity and earn a livelihood.
"The appellant undisputedly is a transgender and it is a hard fact that in our society, transgenders are being shunned even today," said Judge Chawla.
"It is difficult for them to get even menial jobs. The impugned judgment is also totally silent and does not reflect nor is there any material on record to show the circumstances in which the appellant was living or the antecedents of the appellant," the court added.
Appellant Rani was held guilty under the Bombay Prevention of Begging Act, 1959, by the SMM Nov 10, 2010. Rani was convicted for begging on the capital's roads and was ordered to be kept in a beggars' home for two years.
Rani was caught begging Nov 10, 2010 near the Moolchand Flyover in south Delhi and sent to the beggars' home the same day

Sagar Yadav, a trustee of the group, added, “If the eunuch wants to leave the ‘guru’, they are subjected to beatings and torture if they do not obey their gurus or share their earnings. If they want to leave the group, they have to pay the guru. They often borrow from another guru to pay the previous one. Then they spend years paying the loan. This is a kind of bonded labour.” Saxena states that the ‘price’ of a  Eunuch is between Rs50,000 to Rs1,00,000 ? Reality Check ???

The castration procedure, called ‘Nirvana’, is illegal, and forces many to turn to quacks for the operation, putting them at great risk. “No surgeon will do the emasculation surgery, since they need certificates from an urologist, a psychiatrist and other experts that the person needs such a surgery. The poor eunuch has no access to expensive surgeons. So they go to quacks,” said Saxena.

"So far, we have conducted 275 special drives and arrested 90 transgenders," a South Central Railway (SCR) spokesperson said. The arrested persons were prosecuted and Rs 26,100 penalty was collected from them. Among the arrested, 14 persons were sentenced to undergo imprisonment, while cases against others were at trial stage.

Zahoor Guru and his pupils at Cantt police station lock up. PHOTO: DAILY EXPRESS
Eight eunuchs were arrested and sent to jail for two weeks on Monday in Gujranwala under the Maintenance of Public Order ordinance.

They belonged to Mian Zahoor Guru Group and Ijaz Group.

They were arrested by Cantt police on Sunday after they brawled at a wedding ceremony. Ijaz Group had performed at the ceremony and made Rs6,000. Zahoor Guru Group had then allegedly attacked them claiming the Cantt police precinct belonged to them and that no other group was allowed to operate there.

SHO Amir Abbas said the police had tried to settle the dispute but the eunuchs attacked one another at the police station as well. He said when they were unable to calm them down they had to put them in separate lock ups.

Police learnt that the two groups had been clashing over demarcation of territories for over a month.

Earlier, a case was registered against these groups in the first week of January at Cantt police station when Zahoor Guru Group had allegedly broken into Ijaz group’s office and roughed up its members. SHO Abbas said they had detained them for several hours. “They were released with a warning to discipline themselves,” he said.

Those arrested, besides the group leaders, included:

Tahir alias Sana, Tariq alias Tara Ji and Mohsin alias Pooja of Zahoor Guru group and Shahbaz alias Sana, Hamid alias Midda and Javaied alias Jadda of Ijaz group. They were produced before Magistrate Ghulam Abbas on Monday morning who sent them to Central Jail for two weeks. Zahoor Guru Group claimed that they had been working in the area for over 18 years and Ijaz Group had recently settled in.

They accused Ijaz Group of trying to steal their business. Group leader Zahoor Guru said that their business had fallen ever since Ijaz Group’s ‘invasion’. “This is my area. Only my pupils can operate here,” he said. Guru alleged that Ijaz was not even a eunuch. “He’s married. He has hired these eunuchs as a side business. For us, this is our life,” he said.

Ijaz denied the allegation. He said he was as much a eunuch as Zahoor Guru. He challenged the suggestion that the eunuchs could be confined to specific territories. “Everyone should be allowed to operate everywhere. They can’t bar us from any place. We will go wherever we are invited,” he said.

KATHMANDU: When Bollywood director Anirban Dhar toured Nepal this week to showcase his new film, "I Am", he had two keen desires: to visit the fabled Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu and find a gay bar in Thamel, the place tourists flock to in the capital. Bollywood's only openly gay film director also had a teasing request for Sunil Babu Pant, Nepal's only openly homosexual MP and founder of the gay rights movement in the conservative Himalayan republic.

"I wish Sunil would find me a partner," said Dhar aka Onir half-jokingly.

Such jokes and even serious considerations began to pour in since 2008-end, after Nepal's Supreme Court struck a vigorous blow for gay rights, recognising same sex marriages and ordering the government to enact laws to allow them. It also ordered the government to protect the rights of the gay community, leading to such unprecedented government recognition as issuing "Third Gender" identity cards and giving gays a place on electoral rolls.

But now, the new civil and criminal codes proposed by the government are threatening to undermine all that and bring homosexuality under the taboo of "unnatural sexual offences", just as the dreaded Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code had done in India. The new provisions to marriage regard the union as only that between a man and woman and sodomy still remains a punishable offence as "unnatural sex".

"If these bills become law, they will undermine the growth of the gay rights movement in Nepal and criminalise gays," said Pant, whose Blue Diamond Society (BDS), Nepal's first gay rights organisation, has begun protesting against the bills. On Wednesday, when the UN Human Rights Council began its first Universal Periodic Review of Nepal's human rights situation, BDS representative Manisha, a transgender born Suben Dhakal, raised a dissenting voice.

"I am Manisha Dhakal from Nepal speaking on behalf of the Blue Diamond Society and the Sexual Rights Initiative," said Dhakal, in her new persona of a woman. "The proposed civil and criminal laws by the Ministry of Law, which have been tabled in the Nepali parliament, contain provisions to re-criminalize so-called 'unnatural sexual offenses' and to define marriage as only between a man and a woman. These attempts by the law ministry are a clear sign not to follow international human rights standards, a clear intention not to implement Supreme Court's decision and also go against the spirit of the interim and new draft constitution of Nepal."

Nepal's gay community is now calling on the international community to make the Nepal government implement the Supreme court's decisions fully and ensure that the proposed civil and criminal laws are amended to ensure the human rights and equality of sexual and gender minorities.

“I was imprisoned in a male’s body, until a surgeon’s knife cut me free,” says 28-year-old Gazal Dhaliwal who underwent Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS) a few years ago. The turning point in her life came when Dhaliwal made a documentary on trans-sexuality as part of her diploma in filmmaking.

The film titled To be... ME gave her the courage to go ahead with the transition in 2006. However, she claims that nothing much has changed for her after that. “Earlier, I was a woman who did not have a surgery, now I am a woman who underwent a surgery,” adds the Mumbai-based scriptwriter.
Dhaliwal and several other members from the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community will now be sharing their experiences ina new documentary that explores the much discussed topic of the repealing of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code that decriminalises homosexuality.
Titled Over the Shoulder, the film weaves the life stories and realities of the LGBT people across various social and economic strata. “As an ally of gay rights for years, I have seen quite a bit of work on the subject. But I still feel that an honestportrayal of the varied perspectives to an archaic law being repealedwas missing,” says theatre actor-writer-director Nayantara Roy who shot the documentary as part of her thesis at the New York Film Academy where she is currently studying. Shot using real life accounts of individual narratives of known andlittle known faces from the LGBT community, the film chronicles thelife and times of people like gay prince Manvendra Singh Gohil and eunuch social activist Lakshmi Narayan Tripathi. Organisations such asAzaad Bazaar, the Humsafar Trust and the Kashish Queer Film Festivalhave also lent their support to the film.
“Life after the repealing of Section 377 is rewritten everyday,” addsRoy who recalls how Gohil mentioned that he started celebratingIndependence Day only after July 2, 2009 when the court decriminalisedhomosexual sex between consenting adults.
The filmmaker says that the law means a lot to some people and verylittle to others. For instance, gay psychologist Deepak Kashyap, who is in a relationship himself, has been helping homosexual couples tocome out of the closet for years. “There is no room for Section 377 inyoung urban India and it should have gone out along with the British,”adds Roy who has plans to screen the documentary across the US inAugust before bringing it to India. “In our country, 80% of gay men are married.
Unfortunately, there is no awareness but only guilt in such cases,” the filmmaker rues.

Ban Eunuchs SAMBALPUR Sital Sasthi festival ?
SAMBALPUR: Sital Sasthi festival would be different this time. There would be no gyrating eunuchs, a main draw of the event.
Even as Sambalpur gears up to celebrate the fete, the organising committees have decided to ban eunuchs.
Eunuchs, who are invited every year, usually give the festival a distinct identity but they have been of late seen as a culture threat.

These eunuchs come to pay their obeisance to Lord Shiva, also known as Ardhanareswar, and were respected. Suffering from an identity crisis, physical deformities and shunned by families they travel far and wide and make sure to reach here during Sital Sasthi. Not only were they looked up with respect but also allowed to be a part of the festival.
Though the organisers took care of their fooding and lodging besides paying them money, the eunuchs indulged in illegal activities which drew criticism from different quarters

Fuck DUBAI Police and ARAB basted in DUBAI ??

Cross-dressing women targeted in Dubai campaign
DUBAI // Police are launching a campaign against cross-dressing women.
The Government says boyat - loosely translated as tomboys - are indulging in a dangerous practice.
Officials from the police and the Community Development Authority said yesterday they would work together on plans to combat boyat.
"The security awareness administration at Dubai Police is currently planning the launch of campaigns targeting transsexuals, boyat, domestic violence and sexual harassment," police said in a statement.
Fears about boyat first surfaced in 2008, when Dubai Police called on the Government to carry out research into the trend.
Lt Gen Dahi Khalfan Tamim, the chief of Dubai Police, at the time denounced the practice, blaming co-educational schooling and calling on the Ministry of Social Affairs to determine the cause and extent of the problem.
Major Mohammed al Muhairi, the director of the criminal awareness department at Dubai Police, said yesterday: "The important issue is that along with the launch of the campaign, warnings have to be set for such activities and clear punishments have to be put in place.
"We are also collecting data on sexual harassment cases against youths to identify who are the most victimised, and then campaigning to them and raising their awareness to their rights.
"The campaigns will target youths and be divided into four segments covering transsexuality, boyat, broken families and sexual harassment. We are co-ordinating with the Ministry of Social Affairs and will be launching it soon."

Boyat met news of the campaign with indifference. They said they were already the target of similar efforts on school campuses and elsewhere in public.
"I didn't become a boyah because of something at school or because I met a boyah in a social gathering," said a 20-year-old Emirati woman, who declined to be identified by anything more than a nickname, Kool Boyah. "I am a boyah because of what happened at home."
Universities and radio and TV programmes regularly discuss this subculture, often saying parents are not involved enough with their daughters as they hit their turbulent teenage years.
"We are stigmatised and misunderstood," Kool Boyah said, adding she was abused by a male relative as a child. "I wanted to be tough and appear so through my choice of tomboyish clothes and attitude."
Boyat often wear masculine attire under their the abaya and shayla in public.
The phenomenon is also found in other Gulf states, with blogs, websites, online discussion groups and Facebook groups devoted to the movement.
Dr Alia Ibrahim, a family counsellor and life coach who has studied the issue, said "the reasons for the development of such behaviour are to rebel or to stand out, or even to change their identity".

Misguided sexual orientation, social differentiations between males and females, multiple marriages of the father and sexual assaults or harassment also contributed, Dr Ibrahim said.
According to Islamic tradition, it is forbidden for men and women to act like the opposite sex. Such behaviour is considered a deviance from God's plan and from nature.
"Men likening themselves to women and women to men, whether in clothing or the way they talk, walk or in their demeanour and appearance, is despised by any person whose nature has not been corrupted," a Friday sermon warned last year.

Prostitution in Dubai

It is unthinkable to many that prostitution can exist in a place like Dubai where Islam is the predominant religion and where laws are very strict. The truth is, prostitution in Dubai has existed for some time now and is rapidly growing as the city is visited by more and more tourists every year.

Yes, welcome to reality. It does happen in Dubai and it happens a lot. The sad thing is that prostitution is illegal on paper. But practically speaking, it is commonly engaged in all over Dubai. There are so many places that are just flooded with prostitutes that are so obvious and yet ignored by the law officials.

Anyone can identify a prostitute in Dubai from miles away. In fact there are so many designated areas where you can find them anytime you go. Ant the most ironic thing is that the government blocks certain TV channels and Internet sites because of “offensive” material but yet you can just go out of your apartment and find 10 prostitutes right down the road from you.

I have seen prostitute centers right next to Mosques. How unbelievable is that? For you it may be but for the local Dubai resident it is part of daily life. It has become a norm in Dubai and it is quite acceptable.

The Alleged History of Prostitution

You will never hear this published anywhere (or not even discussed as much) but this is the kind of information we are thriving to get to you so that you know become aware of the objective facts and truth about Dubai.

The history behind the prostitution problem in Dubai stems back a just over a decade or so. It is an unspoken and unpublished truth and understanding amongst many that prostitution in Dubai became a regular occurrence once the expat population started to grow rapidly.

There were many cases of local Arabs kidnapping the wives of expat men who came to Dubai for work. The women were raped and returned back. And because Dubai is a Sheikdom and not a democracy, the laws of the Emirate were (and still are) monopolized and designed to favor the local National (citizen). Yes, they can pretty much do anything they want and get away with it.

This caused a lot of anger and frustration amongst the expat population and many started to leave Dubai. Dubai couldn’t afford this because it had a big need for labor. The local Dubai population is not very big. As I write this discussion in 2008, only 17% or so of Dubai is comprised of the local Nationals.

Prostitute Trafficking

Dubai knew it had to keep the workers in the Emirate. In an effort to do this, Dubai started engaging in prostitute trafficking. Basically importing women from Ukraine, Russia, China, Philippines and other countries, exploiting and forcing them to become prostitutes.

There have been many published cases of prostitute abuse in Dubai. Just search online and you will find a ton of cases. But rarely do websites talk about the who, what, why and when. That is why we are here!

By bringing in women from outside, Dubai created a flood of “prostitutes” that kept the local men entertained. Money has never been an issue for the local Nationals. By accepting prostitution as part of Dubai culture, Dubai made sure both the men and the prostitutes were benefiting from the deal.

And as the expatriate population grew, expat men started engaging in hiring prostitutes as well. Dubai is full on young single men who have well paying corporate jobs. These men are frequent visitors of prostitute houses.

As Dubai has become a hot spot for tourism, many tourists (men particularly) choose Dubai as a vacation spot mainly because of the open prostitution. Dubai is seen as a “sex heaven” much like places like the Philippines and Morocco.

So while it may come as a surprise to you to experience this sight first hand for the first time, don’t be surprised. Prostitution has become a part of Dubai culture (especially nightlife) and the law enforcement officials are sure to turn their eyes away from it anytime they see it.

Prostitutes in Dubai

So what inspired this section? Well well I once wrote a post on our Blog about prostitution in Dubai and happened to include some places where you can spot prostitutes in Dubai.

Just minutes later I was bombarded by emails accusing me of promoting prostitution and provide a resource for others to come to my website and find out where they can go to find one. My friend, if you wanted to find one, you would with or without my help. That is a lame a reason to give me.

But thanks to the people who saw the glass half empty, my intention with the blog post was a half full one.

I wrote it so that I can alarm those who want to avoid places saturated with prostitutes.

Think about it, if you are going with your family, do you want to accidentally end up somewhere where there are prostitutes?

So hopefully my logic makes sense now?

It is not a surprise that prostitution exists in Dubai. Dubai has fame, fortune and a majority male population. It just makes sense. Read this section on prostitution in Dubai for some background information and a brief history lesson.

Just know that legally, to have sex with someone you are not married to is an offense (something to think about for the young single couples, especially if you live together).

Hopefully that will make you think thrice before getting involved with anything that has to do with the Dubai prostitutes (or in general). It is risky more than just from a legal perspective.

So whether you look at the glass as half full or half empty, here are some places loaded with prostitutes in Dubai:

  • Cyclone Club – the most famous or should I say INFAMOUS place where prostitutes hang out in Dubai
  • Radison SAS
  • Rattlesnake Club at the Metropolitan Hotel
  • The Al Nasr Square area
  • Rumours at the Ramada Hotel
  • The Regal Plaza Hotel
  • Stayin Alive at the Imperial Suites Hotel
  • Sea View Hotel – A big Filipino hang out
  • The Hyatt Regency in Deira.
  • The Red Square Club at the Moscow Hotel

Eunuchs CRIMAL ACTIVETES in Lucknow ??

LUCKNOW: Residents of Lucknow have decided to challenge eunuchs. Extortion and terrorising tactics by eunuchs have been on the rise for quite sometime in the state capital. There have been over a dozen such cases in the past one month. But now resistance is on its way. Veteran's Sahayata Samiti has knocked at the doors of DIG, Lucknow for help.

The samiti members, led by its president Col Mohan Chandra Papnai (retired), alleged that eunuchs in general go on extortion spree virtually door-to-door. They demand anything between Rs 11,000 to one lakh depending on the occasion and the status of the family.

Residents are either forced to cough up the amount they demand or they are made to go through humiliating experience of listening to choicest expletives apart from the embarrassing situation which may end up in a 'nude eunuch dance'. They move around in sports utility and other luxury vehicles, claimed the samiti.

The samiti has also launched a helpline for the victims. To find a way out of this menace, the samiti has decided to hold a seminar on May 29. DIG DK Thakur has been invited as the chief guest in the seminar, the samiti president said.

HC allows hermaphrodite to sit for paramilitary forces exam

The Delhi HC has allowed a hermaphrodite to take the recruitment exam of the Sashastra Seema Bal. Earlier, the force had denied her employment, as she did not have ovaries. Overturning the home ministry observations, justice Geeta Mittal said, “The rejection of the petitioner… on grounds of medical un-fitness in the medical examinations and findings of Dr K Bhushan, Additional Director General, ministry of home affairs is arbitrary, irrational and illegal and hereby quashed”.

Geeta Luthra, counsel for Sunita (name changed), had filed a petition stating the force’s medical panel found her unfit for the job last year because she was a pseudo-hermaphrodite, a person who has ‘XX’, or female chromosomes  but has masculine reproductive organs.

“The paramilitary forces’ medical panel declared her ‘unfit’ because she had her ovaries removed. The force turned down her appeal for a review, which a doctor from Sanjay Gandhi Medical Government Hospital in Lucknow strongly recommended,” Luthra told the court.

The court directed the  force to evaluate the physical standards of the petitioner and conduct a physical efficiency test of the petitioner within a period of 3 months, after giving the petitioner at least 2 months notice of the date and time of the examination and test.
The judge said, “If the petitioner clears the same, she would be held entitled to forthwith recruitment”

Hijra/eunuch at Shivananda circle Harass women - Absence of police control

Hijra/eunuch at Shivananda circle - you saw a beggar earlier and now this. The police thinks that the job of controlling this menace in society is that of someone else. They perpetuate such rot and complain about it themselves. Sometimes the transgenders harass people badly. Do we need this rot if we call orselves educated? Nobody has organised rehabilitation into decent jobs

for them.

Eunuchs Prowling in Hyderabad

Law and Order has always been a problem in any Congress-I government in Andhra Pradesh. It is quite a problem even in the state capital with Eunuchs – young and even the old attacking innocent people and demanding for money. It is really a shame that this thing has never been curbed by the present government although I would say its never too late to act!
A number of Eunuchs get their make-ups done and hit the roads as early as 9 AM to prey on their victims. If its not your day then you might come under their attack from any direction! Especially the Himayat Nagar main road has become a dangerous zone for common public, in particular the young boys and girls who are inexperienced in dealing with these kind of rogues. One has got to be very alert from keeping away a distance from the approaching army of Hijras.
If you are somewhere in Himayat Nagar on your bike, then better turn back and see if there’s anyone likely to approach you and also left, right and straight to stay away from the possible harassment from these Eunuchs. Be very alert if you have a little kid with you, the best thing is to get inside some shop straightaway! Mind you, there could always be the possibilities of the Eunuchs even pulling out a knife to stab a person not yielding to their demands, they may not be backing away from creating any sort of physical damage to the victim, so it does make the entire episode very scary. Renuka Chowdharyji can you do something for the young women if not men who are becoming victims to this menace? This is not the ‘Talibisation’ that interests you but the ‘Eunuchisation’ happening in our AP State that is not filmed by our alert Electronic Media.
There is also a similar problem during train journeys in Andhra Pradesh. All of a sudden you have a bunch of Eunuchs entering the train and troubling the passengers. They first molest any young man and then demand money at the face. I was in the middle of a nice nap in a train at about 6 or 7 in the morning when a eunuch had come to wake me up in a disgusting manner. The moment I opened my eyes I had to see the horrifying face, something nobody wants to when they just wake up! As I had a laptop worth 50k with me, I thought it was better to shell down the money for safety.

This is an ever growing menace unless it is arrested. There was some sort of a welfare done for Eunuchs during the TDP regime, or atleast promised. I hope that the YSR government does treat this as an issue. I know they have no vote bank among the eunuchs who can’t vote but think about the common man on the street who is getting troubled by them. People would like you to do something Sir, we would love to see an ‘Indiramma Padhakam for Eunuchs’ or even on the name of our great Rajiv Gandhi. May be a 5-paise vaddi scheme for the eunuchs could do something positive for the society, please think over!

Eunuch Menace  in Railways

I am a regular traveller in Southern Railways - Brindavan Express and Lalbagh Express between Chennai and Bangalore. For the past one year, there is a lot of trouble given by eunuch's to passengers in this sector. These people do not spare reservation compartments also. They target young men and demand money. If they are not given money they resort to slapping and pinching the men. They use foul language . This is such an inconevenience to passengers. Kindly do something at the earliest.

Same thing happened to me in Brindavan Exp. Its a serious issue because one of the eunuch(hijra) grabbed my younger son who was 4 at that time. Touched his face even his lips I guess. I saw that the eunuch had some spots near the mouth and some white pus kind of material was there. They smell bad anyway, and I guess they don't take a shower at all. After a few days my son started some itch near his mouth and under arms. He used to scratch a lot and I took him to a doctor, the doctor said it is a skin disease and it was contagious. The doctor gave him strong antibiotics for a two week period. My son was in the bed for 2 weeks crying because he could not eat anything, nor sleep due to the side effect of the antibiotics. After that the symptoms were gone and my son was alright. But the doctor said it may reappear again if my sons immune system is not strong enough. My son has to live with the fear the rest of his life.

Now here is my thought of reasoning, in what way are the eunuch's helpful in a society? They dont behave properly in public. They cannot reproduce. They don't want to work and earn money. I don't think they would donate anything back to the society. In fact I donated blood near my temple, when there was a blood drive.

I have seen some eunuch's working regular jobs like selling flowers or small cleaning jobs etc. But the ones on the trains are just ridiculous.

Eunuchs are a medical anomaly. If they are really born with an undefined genitalia they can be considered as eunuch. But the ones on the train are born with well defined organs and they go through a procedure of removing their genitalia by a blunt rusty knife. Of course they would transmit all kind of diseases to each other and to innocent people.

How ignorant can we be? We should come up with laws to abolish removing genitalia with knifes. If someone really wants to remove, they should go to a doctor. Yes it costs very much, so if they cannot afford that, they can keep the genitalia, what difference will it make?. Like Sati, dowry and child marriage are abolished, we should abolish this ritual of using blunt rusty knifes to perform surgery.

I mean there are lot of people born with deficiencies(being blind, no limbs or deaf etc.) So what is the big deal about genitalia? Why cant they just behave in a society? Is it that the laws are defined only for men and women? What about deaf, blind or handicapped people? can they behave ridiculously and get away with it?

Yes, I think the police should be very strict with them. They should not be allowed on trains without tickets.

Eunuch menace is back

Just last month, Bangalore Mirror reported that city police had decided to crack down on eunuchs extorting money from people at traffic signals. A few days after the report, eunuchs were not to be seen at several traffic signals. However, they seem to have returned to harass people. A bunch of eunuchs at Sony World signal, Koramangala, is particularly troublesome. This morning, I witnessed an unpleasant incident at that signal. Two eunuchs surrounded an auto and pestered the commuter to pay up. They were almost inside the auto, doing God knows what. When the signal finally turned green, one of them even got into the auto. I do not know what happened after that. But it was really scary to watch. Those of us who commute by two- or three-wheelers are the worst affected. What happened to all the promises of action against this menace?

Bangalore: Top cop gives his men three days to put an end to eunuch menace
Often, eunuchs make lewd gestures to force people shell out money

In a belated move that is bound to see Bangalore police’s popularity ratings shoot up, city police commissioner Jyothiprakash Mirji has given his force a three-day deadline, starting Friday, to curb the eunuch menace. At various signal junctions across the city, transgenders – sometimes it is just men masquerading as women – harass motorists and collect money from them, and Mirji has authorised his men to arrest such offenders under the Karnataka Police Act. They will be booked either on charges of creating nuisance in public or under the Beggary Act. Mirji will formally brief his officers on Friday morning on how to go about it in their respective jurisdictions, but on Thursday he reportedly told his men over wireless to get cracking right away. Senior police officers will also interact with different associations that represent transgenders to assure them that the police will act only against those members of the community indulging in such acts.
“We are very serious. We will be taking necessary action in three days. Many people have complained to me directly about problems they face from certain eunuchs,” Mirji told Bangalore Mirror.
The problem is especially acute in the Majestic area, M G Road, Residency Road, St Mark’s Road, Koramangala, Indiranagar, BEL Circle and Airport road. The eunuchs, often numbering two or three, accost motorists – mostly those on two-wheelers or in autos – and demand money.
Those who refuse to pay are showered with abuse, threatened, groped and sometimes even assaulted. In some places like Majestic, eunuchs even resort to chain snatching and robbery.
Unescorted young women are particularly vulnerable. Dona Mathew, a young techie, recounted a frightening experience. “Last week, I and two friends were travelling from Forum mall to Domlur in an auto.
Our auto stopped at the Sony World signal. Suddenly a hijra (in a saree) approached our auto. She first asked money and touched our heads as though blessing us. We were reluctant to give money, but then she started abusing us and warned us that she would kiss each of us on our mouth,” Dona said.

“When my friend gave her a Rs 5 coin she rejected it and asked for 100 rupees. My friend who was closer to the hijra got scared and gave her 100 rupees. But the hijra refused to relent. She wanted money from the other two of us as well and started making lewd and repulsive gestures.” Even the auto driver’s intercession failed to dissuade the hijra. The women in the auto were spared further indignity only because the lights turned green.

“Such incidents keep happening in various parts of the city and despite the presence of traffic police. The cops often look the other way,” Atul C, an executive with an MNC, said. But the police commissioner appears determined. “It is a serious issue. I think three days is enough to solve this problem and I am confident my men will get rid of such troublemakers,” Mirji reiterated.
On the orders of the city police commissioner, Upparpet police have already shifted more than 10 eunuchs indulging in such acts to Beggars Colony.

Eunuch menace near railway station

Eunuchs have become a nuisance to the already harassed public near the railway stations in the suburbs. These eunuchs take advantage of the slow moving traffic in and around the station area and pounce upon passengers alighting from rickshaws for alms.

They block the way and grab people's hands to compel them to give away money. Commuters allege that the traffic police and the police on duty are silent spectators. Office going ladies, young girls and college going students are the favourite targets of the eunuchs. Girls, women, young boys fear their misbehavior and vulgar comments.

"We belong to the service class are have limited income. We try to save money by boarding share-a-rickshaw but these eunuchs try to grab whatever change we get in return from the auto rickshaw drivers. They are so strong that we can't even defend ourselves from their clutches. The police should chase them away and jail them. Only then they will stop harassing public," said Rohini Srivastav from Tilak chowk Kalyan west.

Harassed commuters say that they really want the authorities to take some strict action. "If the police will not act fast then we will be forced to thrash the eunuchs in public. That's the only way to stop this public nuisance," complained Kunal Karnik, Sameer Sawant and Rahil Shaikh from Kalyan west, students from RKT college, Ulhasnagar.

When DK Plus confronted the traffic policeman on duty he retorted, "We are here to regulate the traffic and not to mind the eunuchs. Police Inspector Avhad, Mahatma Police station, said, "We always take action against them, we have even sent them to jail for days together but they are freed by court on paying a negligible amount as fine. After keeping away for a few days they return to their spots and start begging again.

They run away as soon as they see a policeman. But as DK Plus has brought up this serious issue I will take strict action against them and place a few policemen on duty at this particular area to get rid of these culprits," assures Avhad.

GRP to crackdown on eunuchs' menace on trains
KANPUR: In order to tighten the noose around the eunuchs who 'extort'
money from the passengers on trains, additional director general of
police (railways) A K Jain has issued a circular asking the GRP
officials at Kanpur Central railway station to curb such illegal
practices.

Referring to the complaints made by a large number of passengers in
the recent past, Jain, in his circular, has said that eunuchs who
misbehave with passengers should be nabbed.

He has instructed the GRP officials to launch a drive at railway
stations across the state.

The GRP officials at Kanpur Central are presently on a lookout for
five eunuchs who have been involved in chain snatching, bag lifting
and money extortion on trains.

The officials admitted that some eunuchs were arrested earlier but all
were released for want of a solid proof.

"Eunuchs usually operate in groups of two or three. They board trains
and demand money from passengers. Those who confront them have to face
their wrath. Eunuchs strip themselves in public to embarrass the
passengers. Thus people usually give money to avoid such problems,"
GRP inspectorParamhans Mishra said.

He further said that at times, eunuchs also steal bags of passengers.

Showing a copy of the circular which he has received from the ADG,
Mishra said, "Instructions have come directly from the headquarters to
take stern action against eunuchs who demand money from passengers.
Presently we are conducting security drills at the station, which has
alarmed them. It is difficult to find them at the station or in
trains. But if they are found anywhere in and around the station, they
will be arrested. They will not be allowed to travel without tickets."

Meet Timothy Brown, first man to 'cured' of HIV-AIDS

Timothy Ray Brown, 45, from San Francisco Bay Area, is in the news - as the first man cured of HIV-AIDS. "I think so," he calmly tells his interviewers who ask if he actually is cured.
Brown has been facing cameras, gun mikes and diagnostic kits ever since the publication of a research paper on his unique case in the journal Blood in December 2010.
The researchers led by Kristina Allers and Gero Hutter at Charite University Medicine Berlin documented what can be dubbed as a miracle.
The successful reconstitution of a set of white blood cells that the HIV eats up in Brown's body is a "very rare" occurrence, they noted.
Brown, who was tested HIV back in 1995 in Germany, was later diagnosed with another disease - leukaemia or blood cancer that involves an abnormal increase in white blood cell.
He was treated with bone marrow stem cell transplant - a cure for blood cancer. The stem cells came from a donor with a rare gene mutation that involves immunity to HIV - again a rare occurrence.

Stem Cell Trick
How Brown was cured

The mechanism involved special white blood cells called CD4+ helper T cells. When a dangerous material like a bacterium or a virus is detected in the body, immune cells immediately stimulate these special cells. The helper T cells further activate and direct other immune cells to fight the disease. HIV specifically attacks helper T cells, making the body unable to launch a counter offensive against invaders. Hence, AIDS patients suffer from other lethal infections.
The researchers in Berlin showed that after stem cell therapy Brown's body had reconstitution of CD4+ T cells at a systemic level and specifically in his gut mucosal immune system.
"While the patient remains without any sign of HIV infection," they wrote.
Brown has quit taking his HIV medication. The secret is that if the white cells could be manipulated to a state in which they are no longer infected or infectable by HIV, that would mean a functional cure.

Researchers, however, have warned that though the study offers promise, it is not a surefire cure from the dreaded disease - transplants are risky, and this involved a very rare transplant.
Brown is a rather lucky man. He said in a recent interview that appeared in the San Francisco media about his cure: "It makes me very happy - very, very happy."

Kashish GAYSEX film festival 2011 ???

GAYSEX 2011, which will show 124 LGBT films from 23 countries, was approved by India’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and has failed to rouse the ire of anti-gay campaigners.
India only decriminalised gay sex in 2009 and filmmaker and festival director Sridhar Rangayan told IPS that the festival was a “spin-off” of that court decision.
He said: “Last year when we organised the festival, it was a great success. We also found after a proper survey that at least 28 per cent of the audience in the festival was from outside the LGBT community, from the mainstream.

“The participation of people at large shows a change in social attitudes – gays are not seen as ‘criminals’ anymore. The image of a gay man or woman is changing.”
The festival will run until Sunday at a multiplex. Around 2,500 people are expected to see the GAYSEX films

Eunuch arrested for murdering live-in partner ??

Tired of getting fleeced by the man whom she thought loved her, Nisha, a eunuch, brutally murdered him on Thursday night. She has been arrested. Police said Nisha's live-in partner Surender was stabbed on the abdomen, chest, hand and neck. After killing him, Nisha 'ransacked' the house to it look like robbers had killed the victim.

ok like robbers had killed the victim.
Police said Nisha was in contact with Surender for the past 10 years and used to help him financially; she gave him money to set up a shop in Sonia Vihar.
"Over a period of time their relationship got strained, as Nisha got to know that Surender was using her and sending money to his family members in Saharanpur. On Thursday night Nisha found that R3.5 lakh was missing from the house and suspected Surender had taken the money. They had an argument over it," Sanjay Kumar Jain, DCP (northeast) said. Surender was also pressurising her to purchase a house in his name.

"After the argument, Nisha stabbed him brutally and even cut his neck. After that she ransacked the house. The next morning, she went to Rohini with her group to attend a ceremony, something that she could use as an alibi," the DCP added.
When the murder was discovered, Nisha told the police that she wasn't home when Surender was killed.

"To obtain initial clues, the scene of crime was thoroughly examined from various angles. The details of the victim were gathered and extensive enquiries were made regarding his personal and professional life. The eunuch was also examined as she was the last person who saw the victim alive," Jain further said.
There were glaring gaps and contradiction in Nisha's statement and she was subjected to sustained interrogation. After which she broke down and confessed to the crime.
